Tu is currently in charge of financial development, supervision, cultural affairs, broadcast media, publication and file management. He also assists in the management of fiscal, taxation and auditing affairs.

My Colleagus
Born in January 1959, Tu Guangshao is a native of Ezhou City, Hubei Province, ethnic Han. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Economics at Peking University and is a senior economist. He is a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Shanghai Municipal Committee, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Municipality. Tu started working in August 1977.

1978-1985 Studied in the Department of Economics, Peking University.

1985-1989 Worked in the Policy Studies Office of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and later in the Committee’s Commerce and Trade Affairs Department as Deputy Division Director.

1989-1991 Worked in the Planning Department and the Financial Management Department of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC).

1991-1997 Successively served as Deputy Director of the National Financial Markets Quotation and Trading Information System Center of PBOC, Deputy General Manager of the China Securities Trading System Corporation Ltd., Director General of the Trading Department and later Secretary-General of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC).

Aug. 1997-Jun. 2002 General Manager and later Secretary of the CPC Committee of Shanghai Stock Exchange, Member and later Secretary-General of the CPC Committee of CSRC

Jul. 2002-Dec. 2007  Vice Chairman and Member of the CPC Committee of CSRC  

Dec. 2007 onwards  Began to serve as Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Member and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Municipality.

Tu is currently in charge of financial development, supervision, cultural affairs, broadcast media, publication and file management. He also assists in the management of fiscal, taxation and auditing affairs. Tu liaisons with the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee on behalf of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.
