How is the supply of family planning and contraceptive medicine in Shanghai?

There are currently three channels of distributing contraceptives in Shanghai. The first is free contraceptive medicine provided by governments, which is purchased by governments and distributed to people at childbearing age through the population and family planning network. The second is the retail market, where citizens buy out of their own wish and demand. The third channel is through social marketing, which is a new and special public service provided by governments. The marketing is non-profit-oriented, being a helpful supplement to free distribution channel. Shanghai population and family planning sections are experimenting to form a social marketing mechanism supported by governments, managed by medicine administration organizations and conducted by businesses.
