Shanghai Road Cycling Series–China-France Friendship Course Takes Place in Jiading District

On June 21, Shanghai Road Cycling Series–China-France Friendship Course, supported by the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Jiading District People’s Government and the Shanghai Sports Federation, took place in Shanghai Automobile Expo Park.

The tournament attracted around 200 domestic and foreign cyclists to compete on a 2.3 km long course. Cyclists were divided into the following groups: Public (8 laps), Women (8 laps), Advanced (14 laps), Master (14 laps) and Elite (16 laps). The full day program, which combined Individual Time Trial (ITT) in the morning and road race in the afternoon, gave the spectators the opportunity to watch both team competition and individual race against the clock within a single day.

On the meadow outside the racing area, cyclists and spectators also had great time enjoying themselves with recreational activities and friendly conversations. Five bands, including “Nomad’s Land” and “Golden Age” from France, gave electrifying performance on the stage of the China-France Music Festival, echoing the roaring cheers from the crowd. On the market, in an effort to promote French culture and tourism, eight French companies offered food and beverage for the cyclists and spectators to taste so that they could have “a bite of France” without traveling abroad.
