Fijian Consulate General Opens in Shanghai

    On August 18, the Consulate General of the Republic of Fiji opened in Shanghai. H.E Epeli Nailatikau, President of the Republic of Fiji, and Jin Xingming, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, addressed the ceremony.

    Nailatikau said that the newly-opened Fijian Consulate General is a crucial measure of Fiji to strengthen its friendship and cooperation with Shanghai and will play an important role in promoting friendly cooperation and exchange between Shanghai and Fiji as well as other Pacific island countries.

    Jin extended his congratulations on the opening of the Fijian Consulate General. He said that Shanghai is home to 74 consulate posts. The Fijian Consulate General will help Shanghai citizens further learn about Fiji, intensify the relations between the two sides as good friends and partners and promote cooperation in a wide range of areas such as business, people-to-people exchange, education and culture.
