Dialog Between Diplomats and Private Enterprises 2014 Held in Shanghai

    On September 25, the Dialog between Diplomats and Private Enterprises 2014, jointly sponsored by the federations of industry and commerce in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, was hosted in Shanghai International Convention Center with a view to promoting international cooperation and facilitating the outbound investment of private enterprises. Some officials of foreign embassies to China, over 40 consuls general and commercial consuls of 30-strong Consulates Generals as well as over 40 famous private entrepreneurs attended the event.

    Li Lu, Vice Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Wang Zhixiong, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee and Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce and Huang Ping, Director General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China delivered speeches on the development of Chinese private enterprises, their latest development of “going global” and China’s facilitation measures. Representatives of five typical “going global” private enterprises addressed the audience on their outbound investments and international cooperation.

    Florin Marius Tacu, head of the Consular Corps in Shanghai and Consul General of Romania in Shanghai, Luc Rene Decker, Consul General of Luxembourg to Shanghai and Evgenios Dimitrios Kalpyris, Consul General of Greece to Shanghai also gave their talks.

    After the meeting, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the federations of industry and commerce in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai signed cooperation agreements with relevant embassies and chambers of commerce in China. Some officials of embassies and consulates went to Jiangsu to visit two renowned local private businesses.
