Maltepe District Delegation from Istanbul of Turkey Visits Changning District

    A 12-member delegation of Maltepe district government from Istanbul of Turkey, led by the district’s mayor Ali Kiliç and also including two district council members Mehmet Erikci and Levent Zengin, visited Changning district on April 15-18.
     
    During its stay in Shanghai, the delegation called on the Changing District Government. Mayor Ali Kiliç and Xie Feng, head of the Changing District Government, briefed each other on the basic facts of their respective districts, explored future cooperation and signed the Memorandum of Conversation between Changning District of Shanghai, the People’s Republic of China and Maltepe District of Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey.
     
    The delegation toured Shanghai Museum of Social Cohesion, learned about the vicissitudes of Shanghai and the operational model of zonal management network in Changning, and went to Xinhua community, where they visited a social service center and a daycare center for the elderly.
     
    When visiting Changning District Library, Mayor Ali Kiliç marveled at its design and activities, saying that he wishes to organize Turkish writers and their works to come here to give exhibitions.
     
    When touring Tianyi Primary School, Maltepe council member Levent Zengin had interactions with the students in English and expressed his interest in getting a Turkish primary school to twin with the school.
     
    The Turkish guests also made a tour of commercial and modern service facilities in the district.
