“Cloud Health” Project of Shanghai Selected as “Best Practice” by UN Human Settlements Program
The Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Office has received a notice lately from the “Dubai International Award for Best Practices” organizing committee that Shanghai’s “Cloud Health” project has been selected as a “Best Practice”.
The Shanghai project was among the 48 winners of the honor of “Best Practices”, whose content will be included in the data bank of the UN Human Settlements Program and Dubai International Award for Best Practices in the second half of this year.
The Dubai Award, set up based on the Dubai Declaration passed at a UN international conference held in United Arab Emirates in 1995, is managed jointly by the Dubai Municipality and the UN Human Settlements Program. The purpose of the award, which is given every other year, is to commend and disseminate sustainable projects that aim to improve human living environment. The Dubai organizing committee has received 615 applications from around the world this year, from which an independent technical advisory committee selected 48 projects and sent them to a panel of selection committee, which finally picked 11 grand award winners.
“Cloud Health” is an innovative medical application of Shanghai Smart City, which, with mobile application as a medium, based on massive medical data, supported by powerful telecom resources and in combination with professional and reliable medical and health service, provides integrated medical and health service to the common people, with an aim to improving the efficiency of medical resources and medical service, promoting medical equity, extending medical service and making seeking medical advice “smart”. “Cloud Health” is an important application in “smart” medical development the Shanghai Municipal Government has advocated.
