Han Zheng Meets Ambassador of Vietnam to China

    On April 13, Han Zheng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, met with H.E. Dang Minh Khoi, ambassador of Vietnam to China, and his party.
     
    Han Zheng said that China-Vietnam traditional friendship can be traced back to ancient times and the exchange of visits by General Secretary Xi Jinping and Genera Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to each other’s countries last year has pointed out the direction for the future development of relations between the two countries. In the last 20 years and more since Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City became sister cities, the two cities have built up a sound foundation for cooperation and exchange in the economic, trade, scientific & technological, cultural and personnel areas. In accordance with the requirements and plans by the central authorities, Shanghai is now deepening reform in an all-round way and steadily expanding opening up. We have the confidence and ability to maintain sustained and stable economic growth and achieve development with high efficiency, quality and an optimized structure. He expected the ambassador to gain more and better understanding of China’s and Shanghai’s development and further promote the friendly ties between the two countries and between Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City.
     
    Dang Minh Khoi said that the successful exchange of visits by the top leaders of Vietnam and China has further driven and deepened the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The Vietnamese side would like to continue to act in accordance with the principle of long stability, aiming at the future, good-neighborliness and friendship, and all-round cooperation and the spirit of good neighbors, friends, comrades and partners and promote the long, healthy and steady development of relations between the two countries. Shanghai has scored achievements that draw attention from all in its economic and social development and potential is great for cooperation in various areas between the two sides. He called for closer exchange in business, cultural and other areas and welcomed Shanghai enterprises to invest and found businesses in his country.
     
    Yin Hong, member of the Standing Committee and secretary-general of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, was present at the meeting.
