Ying Yong Meets Governor of Styria State, Austria


On March 27, Ying Yong, mayor of Shanghai, met with Hermann Schützenhöfer, governor of Styria State of Austria, and the delegation led by him. They signed a MOU on friendly cooperation and exchange between the two places.

Ying Yong said China and Austria have had a frequent exchange of high-level visits and the two countries have seen continuous development of their friendly relations in recent years. Shanghai and Styria State have conducted productive cooperation and exchange in the economic, trade, caring of the elderly and higher education areas. As Styria is a state strong in innovation, the two sides can learn from each other, enhance cooperation and exchange and cope with common challenges in scientific & technological innovation, service for the seniors, urban planning and other fields. He hoped to see more practical and fruitful cooperation between Shanghai and Styria State.

Hermann Schützenhöfer said Styria State is strong in research, with a large contingent of creative and research talent. It would like to work with Shanghai to carry forward innovation exchange and cooperation. With the MOU singed now, he wished the two sides will further deepen their cooperation in such areas as medical and health, elderly caring, tourism and culture.
