Mayor visits orphanage on Children's Day

Mayor Ying Yong visited Shanghai Children's Welfare Institute on June 1 and brought them greetings for the International Children's Day. He wished the orphans grow up there in happiness.

Ying told the children to acquire knowledge and skills in preparation for serving the country and the development of Shanghai. He then watched a performance by the children.

They mayor went to the ward area of the institute to learn about the condition of some young patients. He asked about the health of abandoned infants there and praised the medical staff for their hard work.

The city leader also watched children making drawings and baking cookies in the orphanage. He told accompanying officials to take better care of underprivileged children and help them integrate into the society.
