My division of labor

Weng Tiehui, vice mayor of Shanghai, is in charge of education, health, family planning, medical insurance, culture, broadcast, TV and film, press and publication, Taiwan affairs, overseas Chinese affairs, and protecting the rights of children and women. She works closely with the Publicity Department and the United Front Work Department of the CPC Shanghai Committee.


Weng Tiehui, female, Han Chinese, a CPC member, was born in April 1964 in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. She holds a Master’s degree in economics and is a research fellow. She now serves as vice mayor of Shanghai and director of Shanghai Red Cross Society.

Weng Tiehui started working in July 1988 and had served as director of the student affairs department, deputy Party secretary and vice president of Fudan University, deputy secretary of the education department of the CPC Shanghai Committee, deputy secretary of the science and education department of the CPC Shanghai Committee, and deputy secretary general of the Shanghai Municipal Government.
