Take a bite of this snack-themed museum
09.12.2019
The world's first snack-theme museum opened recently in Songjiang.

Built by snack brand Shanghai Lyfen Co Ltd and covering an area of 4,200 square meters, the facility consists of three sections to display the history of snacks and their innovative development as well as a visitor experience zone.

"The 5,000 years of history has brewed a special and rich dining culture in China and snacks can be a window for the world to know about us," said Yu Ruifen, president of Lyfen.

"We planned to establish the museum in a backdrop where consumption is upgrading and the food industry is becoming more international," Yu added.

Designed by an Italian team, the structure features a flip-board wall and a large-screen cinema that merges with the natural landscape.

Snack tales are recounted. For example, people first made maltose from barley seedlings during the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) and the world's first ice cream was born during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368).

Technological elements have also been added into the space for a better immersive experience with snacks.
