Fudan, Jiao Tong to offer courses on Coursera
Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University each signed contracts yesterday with Coursera, one of the world's three Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) platforms, to offer their Chinese and English-language courses on the platform like Yale, MIT and Stanford.
The other two MOOCs platforms are edX and udacity.
Coursera was founded by two Stanford University professors. It initially cooperated with Stanford University, Michigan University, Princeton University and University of Pennsylvania. Now it has partnered with more than 80 universities and institutions worldwide to offer hundreds of courses in five languages to 2.7 million registered users.
edX is a platform built by Harvard University and MIT. It was joined by Peking University and Tsinghua University in May.
