Shanghai delegates inspired and motivated by Xi's report

    Members of the Shanghai delegation to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China discussed a report delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the opening session of the congress in Beijing on Wednesday.

    Shanghai Party Secretary Han Zheng presided over the meeting and delegates all agreed that Xis report was both inspirational and motivational. The report reviewed the overall development trend of China and in the world, highlighted peoples needs and aspirations, and pointed out the direction of Chinas future development.

    The delegates said the CPC Central Committee, with Xi being the core, has pushed ahead many historic reforms and achieved great accomplishments in the five-year period since the 18th National Congress.

    Meanwhile, Xis thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era has taken shape and it will encourage Chinese people of all walks of life to work together to build a great modern socialist country.

    The delegates pledged they will implement the spirit and guideline of the 19th National Congress in Shanghai, which will take the lead in future development and make greater contributions to the country.

    Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong also attended the discussion.
