'Made-in-China 2025' forum promotes further industrial reform

    Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong and Miao Wei, minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the ¡°Made-in-China 2025 International Forum Round-Table Discussion¡± on November 7.

    Miao pointed out that the forum has contributed to stabilizing China's economy and accelerating transformation of manufacturing. Using bi-lateral and multi-lateral cooperation mechanisms, it has cooperated with the United States, Germany, and France in strategic docking, standard establishment, hi-tech park construction, and innovations of high-end equipment.

    Ying said manufacturing plays an important role in Shanghai's economy. This year Shanghai introduced 50 guidelines to boost real economy and has achieved remarkable results. Shanghai is working hard to accelerate the construction of the technology and innovation center, and create a better environment for advanced manufacturing to become the top of the industrial chain, he added.

    At the forum, Sha Zukang, former under-secretary of the United Nations, John Peace, chairman of Midlands Engine, gave speeches at the forum, which aims to build an international platform of cooperation in manufacturing and advance the manufacturing industry.
