Baolong Automotive wins award for its tire pressure monitor system sensor

Songjiang-based Baolong Automotive Corporation has been awarded for its tire pressure monitor system (TPMS) sensor recently in an evaluation of the country's new energy automobiles.

The event was launched by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, SAE International and other industrial leagues, aiming to enhance production of competitive products and promote the development of new energy vehicles.

Baolong in Songjiang G60 Sci-tech Corridor is one of the earliest domestic enterprises to look into TPMS and is now one of the major providers for carmakers.

It has developed proprietary sensors and the world's smallest TPMS product in collaboration with Freescale. It is also a member of the team that drafts the national TPMS standards that are to take effect next year.

So far the company has produced 15 million such sensors.

"The honor is a sign of recognition for our efforts and we will continue to tap into the smart automobile development," said the company's president Zhang Zuqiu.
