Shanghai mayor holds symposium with private entrepreneurs

    Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong expressed his hope for private enterprises to join the city's endeavor and make full use of its advantages to promote high-quality development on Tuesday, the first working day for the new city government.

    Ying made the remarks at a symposium with 12 private entrepreneurs at Zhangjiang in Pudong New Area.

    "Private enterprises in Shanghai are an important engine of economic development as they are important for innovative development and important source of jobs and important force in strengthening market vitality," said Ying.

    The 12 private entrepreneurs from the industries of healthcare, industrial manufacturing, aviation, internet service and investment expressed their opinions and advice on government services.

    "Government officials should be happy to hear complaints and try our best to create a better environment for private enterprises," the mayor added.
