The number of electronic waybills of Shanghai Pudong International Airport for the first five months of the year reached 341,796, the highest among all the airports in the world, according to a recent report of International Air Transport Association.

In May, 60.6 percent of waybills for exporting cargos were electronic, comparing to 14 percent in March, 2015. The number, an indicator of operating efficiency of air cargo hubs, has been quadrupled in the past three years.

Since 2015, more than 10 airlines, 100 plus cargo agents and 189 freight forwarding enterprises have signed agreements to adopt electronic waybills. The airport plans to introduce complete paperless operation in the future.
