Huangpu historical buildings and lanes provide QR codes for background information

    Visitors to 204 historical buildings and lanes around Huangpu District can learn their background information by simply scanning the QR codes on the metal plates on the wall to improve their visiting experience.

    The historical buildings include the glamorous old buildings on the Bund, East Nanjing Road, Ruijin No. 2 Road and Middle Huaihai Road.

    Maodeli Lane on Xinchang Road near the People's Square is one of them. By simply scanning the QR code on the front wall of the lane, visitors will get to know that Maodeli was built in 1924. There are altogether 11 two-story buildings made up of bricks and woods.

    In addition, the introduction also includes the history of Xinchang Road, which dates back to 1899 in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

    Apart from text, the background information at some places also includes pictures and audios.
