Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone

    Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone, located in the northwest of Shanghai and on the development axis of Shanghai and Nanjing, is a municipal-level pilot industrial zone established with the approval of Shanghai Municipality. It is in the center of the cluster of 15 cities at the Yangtze River Delta, with Taicang, Jiangsu to the north, Jiading New Town to the south, Shanghai International Automobile City and Kunshan, Jiangsu to the west and Baoshan, Shanghai to the east.

    The industrial zone covers an area of 78 square kilometers, and is made up of the South Area and the North Area. The South Area was established in October 1992 and has since developed 24.8 square kilometers. Established in January 2003, the North Area was approved by Shanghai Municipality to be a base of advanced manufacturing industry, with a core area of 32.4 square kilometers. So far, the zone is well facilitated with roads, water, electricity and gas, and certified to ISO9001 and ISO14001.

    Over the past years, Jiading Industrial Zone has set up six state-level parks, namely, Jiading Branch of Shanghai ZJ Innopark, Jiading National Enterprising Park for Overseas Returnees, Shanghai CAS Hi-tech Park, Shanghai Jiading Export Processing Zone, Fudan Forward Hi-tech Park, and National Technology Park of Shanghai University. The zone has now formed industrial chains of auto components, optoelectronic information, precision machinery manufacturing and new materials. A total of 400 plus companies from over 30 countries and regions, such as Dupont, International Paper, BMW, Continental, Fiat and Sandvik, are now located in the park with a total investment of US$10 billion. Among them, over 80% projects are with an investment no less than US$10 million.

    Jiading Industrial Zone will be built into a sophisticated, aggregated, energy-saving and environment-friendly park that meets transnational manufacturing and global technology transfer needs as well as a modern community that ensures sustainable development.
