Xuhui District is located at the Southwest part of Shanghai and it sprawls over 549,300 square kilometers. There are altogether 12 subdistricts, onetownship, and 303 neighborhood communities in the district.

In 2018, Xuhui attracted a series of famous shopping malls to settle in the district, such as the Orient Shopping Center, Pacific Department Store, and Grand Gateway 66, all of which offer a rich variety of products, forming a dislocation competition and thus making Xuhui a hallmark region of Shanghai’s booming economy.

Xuhui is Shanghai’s one of the most convenient downtown area in terms of transport. It can be reached with Metro lines 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12and the Middle Ring Road, which connects to the district’s southern part.

South Shanghai Railway Station, with a modern circular design and a translucent dome, serves as a gateway that connects Xuhui to cities and provinces in the southern part of China.

In addition, the district has two dozens of historical landscape architectures, 25.5 percent of green coverage, and 4.85 square meters of public green space per capita.

Xuhui’s riverside area, the leisure street at Hengshan Road, the Xujiahui Park, Shanghai Stadium, and the Longhua Temple have become shopping and tourism destinations for domestic and foreign visitors.
