Pudong Customs facilitates fruit export
In the peach orchard of Shanghai Hongjiu Agriculture in Datuan Town, Pudong New Area, 50 boxes of plump and juicy peaches were ready to be shipped to Singapore on Thursday, being the first batch of Shanghai local fruits to be exported after the pandemic.
With the help of Pudong Customs in 2020, Hongjiu Agriculture completed the icensing procedures for exporting fruits from the orchard and packaging factory.
In 2021, the company also introduced Nanhui peaches to the Singapore market. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022, the company had to suspend export.
Xu Yunqing, the person in charge of Hongjiu Agriculture, said that at the beginning of this month, Sheng Siong Supermarket, one of Singapore's top three supermarkets, contacted Hongjiu for in hopes of resuming its exports.
However, at that time, the registration of the company's fruit orchard and packaging factory had expired. Aware of it, Pudong Customs responded promptly and helped Hongjiu complete the administrative licensing procedures as soon as possible.
In response to the urgent need for exports, the customs ultimately adopted "remote video" assessment to complete the approval process, which originally took 20 working days, within three working days.
The export of Nanhui peaches is a trial, and in the future, the company will consider exporting local yellow peaches, 8424 watermelons, and other high-quality local fruits overseas.
