The Jiufeng Agricultural Park in Fengjing Town recently completed the construction of a 9,840 square meter vegetable seedling breeding workshop. In the future, with just one technician, the automatic system will be able to produce about 9 million high-quality vegetable seedlings annually.

All the links for vegetable seedling breeding are condensed in a less than 5-meter-long assembly line. Seeds are transferred into a sowing tray in just a few seconds through the work of the fully automated seeding line.

Afterward, the seedlings are moved horizontally via the crane dispatching system to be laid out in glass greenhouses to receive mobile spray irrigation, waiting for the seeds to germinate.

"Throughout the entire process, the production technicians only need to prepare empty seedling trays, seeds and soil at the feeding point, and the rest of the process can be controlled via a computer," said Zhao Xiaoguang, a staff member from Jiufeng park. "In addition to saving labor, the automation equipment makes water and materials usage more precise, and it is estimated that all types of costs can be reduced by more than 50 percent per year."

With the goal of creating an intelligent vegetable field, the Jiufeng park has continuously improved the mechanization level of vegetable production, gradually reduces the labor intensity, and adapts to the increasingly fierce market competition through scaled operation and standardized production.
