Content of Support:

Qualification for holding the corresponding post of technological profession

Applicable Conditions:

1. He/She has been employed for no less than 2 years as Senior Economist after obtaining a post-doctorate degree;

2. He/She has been employed for no less than 4 years as Senior Economist after obtaining a masters degree;

3. He/She qualifies Senior Economist and has been holding a corresponding post for no less than 5 years after obtaining a bachelor’s degree;

4. He/She holds a college diploma, is in charge of work of the key economic department in enterprises or public institutions, holds the qualification of Senior Economist and has been holding a corresponding post for no less than 7 years;

5. For applicants who did not have the above-mentioned educational background, he/she should qualify Senior Economist, has been holding a corresponding post for no less than 10 years, has been in charge of work in the key economic department for no less than 5 years while he/she should also be recommended by no less than 2 well-known professionals qualified as senior technological professionals in the same profession.

6. For applicants who have been qualified as intermediate-level technological professionals in professions such as accounting, statistics, auditing or other relative professions or have working experience in the above-mentioned areas, he/she should have the working experience for no less than 1 year on the present post of economic professions; For applicants who have been qualified as intermediate-level technological professionals in other relative professions, he/she should have the working experience for no less than 3 years;

7. For applicants who obtained the qualification for Senior Economist earlier than the diplomas or degrees described in 1. to 4., he/she is required to have at least 1-year working experience after he/she obtained his/her diplomas or degrees.

8. Applicants are required to submit no less than 2 papers for review, which have been independently written within the past 5 years since he/she was employed for the present position. Those papers should be closely related to the applicants’ work and profession with at least one of which published in journals with ISSN. Applicants should designate one paper of more than 3,000 words as the main one for review. Dissertations or papers written before graduation cannot be submitted for review during the application;

9. Applicants for the qualification of employment as Senior Economist are required to take continuing education training courses for intermediate-level economic professionals for 120 hours (the former 40 credits) in 5 years. In addition, if all the courses of general knowledge for technological professionals in Shanghai are taken in 5 years, learning hours of those courses can be transferred into credits (3 hours= 1 credit) as follows: 6 hours for general knowledge courses on IPR, 12 hours for intermediate-level courses on innovation and 12 hours for intermediate-level courses on project management. For applicants who obtained the qualification for economist after January 1st, 2014 are required to take courses for at least 24 hours (the former 8 credits) annually since the second year after the qualification is obtained.
