Approval of foreigners’ residence permit

Materials, which are complete and prepared in a legal form, will be accepted.

Instructions for Filling

1.The application materials shall be sequenced in the order as set out in the List of Application Materials in this Guide;

2.The documents prepared by the Applicant are printed with A4 papers, and those issued by the government and other authorities shall be provided in the size(s) as the original(s);

3.Copies of the application materials shall be clear and legible.

Formal Standards

I. Material requirements:

1. The application materials shall be sequenced in the order as set out in the List of Application Materials in this Guide;

2. The documents prepared by the Applicant are printed with A4 papers, and those issued by the government and other authorities shall be provided in the size(s) as the original(s);

3. Copies of the application materials shall be clear and legible.

II. Notes:

1. The Applicant must handle it in person;

2. Where the entry-exit administrative body of the public security organ thinks it necessary to have a face-to-face talk with the Applicant, or requires for other supplementary materials (proof of financial source, proof of changes in such information as name, proof of corporate business condition), the application will be revoked if the talk is failed or materials are not submitted within the time specified, other than due to force majeure.

3. Decision made by the entry-exit administrative body of the public security organ on not extending, changing or reissuing the ordinary visa, not dealing with the stay/residence permit for foreigners and not extending the residence period shall be final.

Legal Basis

As per Article 30 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China, where visas held by foreigners specify that foreigners need to apply for residence permits after entry, such foreigners shall, within 30 days from the date of their entry, apply to the exit/entry administrations of public security organs under local people’s governments at or above the county level in the proposed places of residence for foreigners’ residence permits.
